It’s official, Brian from Family Guy came out to his family as an atheist. Previously, he had been seen reading The God Delusion, but this was clearly the first time he’d told his family.
I personally really enjoyed the comment from Lois on how they could all participate in religion-bashing, but being an atheist was going too far, because they were a family that believed in god… Very true to life.
This is an epic day for all cartoon fans, and possibly for the Fox network as well…
Update: PS to any visitors from Pharyngz: I know I’m not cool enough because I posted this, so don’t even bother to tell me!
I also drink Miller Lite, take that. One more: I focused on the atheism and coming out and I didn’t talk about the ST cast being on the episode because 1. I’m a girl and 2. I’m sexually active and want to keep it that way. Zing.

Is there any video available for it? And can I get a stuffed Brian doll?
Finally, is Brian actually supposed to represent Seth McFarlane in this show? Cause, you know, Seth is an atheist…
I don’t know. Probably.
Probably. But not sure.
I think so, but I’m not entirely 100% on that right now…
And people say that atheists always need to be right and act like they know everything!
lol.
Well, at least Seth MacFarlane still believes in dog
Check out “The 33 Year Old Virgin” on Season 3 of Robot Chicken. It’s sacrelicious!
Oh, me loves Robot Chicken.
Check out Xavier: Renegade Angel. I’ve never seen a gay man shoved up the pope’s butt, the pope murdered, the gay man snuck into heaven via the underbrown railroad, revered as the chosen one for admitting his illegal presence in heaven, and then revealed to be the first black man in heaven.
I almost peed myself!!
Wow, I have not watched that show in a while. Sounds like I need to get back to it. Excellent social commentary via Lois! Nice site Sunny.
Greetings all, and thanks for the cool blog, Sunny. This is my first post here.
Mike…the vid should be available sometime today on hulu.com. It is quite possible that Brian represents creator Seth McFarlane as both have very liberal sensibilities, use marijuana, and of all the characters that Seth does voice for (Peter, Stewie, Quagmire), Seth uses his regular speaking voice for Brian. Well spotted.
I worry, though, does it speak bad about the man, or bad about TV in general that an over 40 year old guy’s 2 favorite shows are cartoons? (South Park being the other)
Nice to meet you, DT and RVK!
I worry that almost all of my favorite shows are cartoons, or at least a tad immature for my age. We went to see Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job. We were not the oldest people there, though!
I’ve got the video up on my site. Watch it now before Youtube takes it down.
Thanks!

I always liked Brian.
Hwut did you say?!

The Simpsons have alot of anti-religious stuff. Heck, look what a buffon they make the reverend and ned flanders out to be.
If Homer had more than 1/2 a brain he’d probably be an atheist. The best line I ever heard from him was
“BUT MARGE, WHAT IF WE ARE WORSHIPPING THE WRONG GOD? EVERY DAY HE IS GETTING MADDER AND MADDER!”
Hump
I like “A missionary??? But I don’t even believe in Jebus!” “Save me Jebus!!!”
A sexually active atheist girl who drinks Miller Lite and enjoys Family Guy?
Mmmmmm…..
My dog, unfortunately, is a christian.
She’s not a fundie, so it’s not so bad. I think she may have agnostic tendecies, I may be able to sway her to reason
Unfortunately, I keep missing this show but do love Brian, and glad to hear he’s officially an atheist!
Any non hulu or youtube links to this vid?
