God Changes You…

July 19, 2009 · 8 Comments

Gov. Mark Sanford writes an opinion piece and asks residents to just wait and let God change him.

Fun.  So, God is going to help him be a better person NOW?  After years of being a total hypocritical dick?  Again, God certainly does work in mysterious ways…

I love that he’s trying to court the vote of crazy people, though.  He knows that’s all he has left if he ever wants to get elected for ANYTHING ever again.  Appeal to the nuts in your state.

Hey, this might actually be a good thing – maybe God will change him into a toad, or considering his apparent preferences, perhaps a South American tree frog would be more fitting…

No doubt one of Christianity’s most useful additions is the reset button of absolution – though I though that you needed to be contrite to really get it, but hey, what do I know.

“I have come clean, after being caught in the act”. How can any of us doubt such sincerity.

Because his little godly buddies in the Family did such a good job? Yeah, I’m not buying this one.

I would, however, be really happy if he’d just be quiet already. Every time his face gets posted and the word “sex” is printed nearby…blegh.

Unfortunately, the nuts are numerous enough to probably re-elect him. I’m going to have to remember “total, hypocritical dick.” I like that, and it applies to so many people!

So does that mean that I can just wait for God to passively transform me into a Christian and not worry about all the crap involved with it in the mean time? Or is Sanford just trying to do his best to make “I’m not gonna try to become a better person, but I might become a better person anyway on accident” sound appealing to the God Squad?

So this bothered you, too, huh? You’d think if God was so powerful, then Sanford would’ve already realized he had a problem and needed to change. Maybe God’s been distracted with Sarah Palin…

    I like his angle.

I’ll use it next time a christian asks me to church or to change my ways….
“Let’s just wait and see what God has planned for me”

That should hold ‘em off for a while?

Well, it’s just ridiculous. These religionuts get to do whatever the hell they want, because either way afterward either god will help them through this time, or god will forgive them, or the devil made them do it, etc. etc. I mean seriously. Take a little responsibility for being the hypocritical prick that you are.

Oh, and if you’re GOING to be a jackass, perhaps don’t criticize others who are doing exactly the same as you are. Duh.
